Bayline Eaves service terms
These are the plain-English terms that apply when you book residential eavestrough services with Bayline Eaves. They are designed to be fair to both the homeowner and the small family-run business performing the work. By tapping Accept this quote in any quote email, by replying with written agreement, or by allowing the service to be performed at the property, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.
1. Who Bayline Eaves is
Bayline Eaves is a small, family-run residential eavestrough service operating in Grey County, the Blue Mountains, Meaford, Owen Sound, Collingwood, Thornbury, Markdale, and surrounding Southern Georgian Bay communities in Ontario, Canada. Bayline Eaves is registered for Canadian HST under HST # 741471502 RT0001 and carries Workplace Safety and Insurance Board coverage under WSIB # 1925537. A current WSIB Clearance certificate and a current liability insurance certificate are available on request and may be attached directly to any email Bayline Eaves sends you.
2. What is included in the service
The default booked service is interior eavestrough cleaning: leaves, needles, roof grit, and seasonal debris are removed by hand from the inside of the eavestroughs, the downspouts are flushed and flow-checked so rainwater runs through cleanly, and a quick visual inspection of the eaves and downspouts is completed so any obvious problem spots can be flagged early. Minor on-site repairs are only included when explicitly listed on your quote.
3. What is not included
Unless explicitly listed on your written quote, this service does not include exterior power-washing of the eavestroughs, soffit or fascia cleaning, roof cleaning, gutter-guard installation, structural repairs, downspout extensions, or any work requiring access above standard ladder height. If any of these are of interest, just ask and a separate written quote will be provided.
4. Quotes and pricing
Quoted prices are valid for 30 days from the date the quote was sent and are stated in Canadian dollars. Prices are based on the property details you supply (home type, storeys, access, photos). If, on arrival, the property differs materially from the description provided, Bayline Eaves will pause and contact you in writing before any extra work proceeds. You will never be billed for work you did not approve.
5. Scheduling, weather, and access
All visits are weather permitting. If conditions are unsafe (high wind, lightning, ice on roof surfaces, heavy rain), the visit is rescheduled to the next available fair-weather day at no additional cost. You do not need to be home for the work to be completed. The customer is responsible for ensuring safe ladder access on the day of the visit, including unlocking any side gates, moving fragile items away from the perimeter of the home where reasonable, and keeping pets indoors during the visit.
6. Additional or unforeseen work
If, during the visit, Bayline Eaves discovers an issue that was not visible from the original quote details (for example, a sagging eavestrough section, a disconnected downspout joint, or a leaking corner), the work will pause and you will be contacted by email or text with a written description of what was found and a written estimate. No additional work proceeds until you have given written approval.
7. Payment terms
Invoices are sent by email after the work is completed and are due within 14 days of the invoice date. Accepted methods are: secure online card payment via the Stripe-hosted "Pay invoice with card" button included on every Bayline Eaves invoice (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay), Canadian Interac e-Transfer to [email protected] (autodeposit; no security question required), or any other method previously arranged with you in writing. Bayline Eaves does not store credit card numbers; card payments are processed entirely on Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure. HST is included in the quoted price unless otherwise stated.
Late payments may be subject to a one-time administration fee of $25 if the balance remains unpaid more than 30 days after the invoice date. Bayline Eaves is a small business and overwhelmingly prefers to resolve any payment issue by friendly email; please reply to the invoice email if anything looks off.
8. Cancellation and rescheduling
Cancellations or schedule changes made more than 24 hours before the booked visit are free and can be requested by replying to any Bayline Eaves email. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or no-shows where Bayline Eaves arrives on the property and is unable to safely perform the work due to access not being made available, may be subject to a flat $50 trip charge to cover the travel and time slot.
9. Insurance and liability
Bayline Eaves carries WSIB coverage and commercial general liability insurance appropriate to a residential ladder-based service business in Ontario. Reasonable care is taken on every visit. To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, Bayline Eaves' total liability for any claim arising out of a visit is limited to the value of the service performed at that visit. Bayline Eaves is not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden defects (such as rotted fascia behind the eavestrough, hidden ice damage, or inadequate original installation), or damage caused by access conditions outside Bayline Eaves' reasonable control.
10. Photos taken on site
Bayline Eaves may take a small number of photos of the eavestroughs, downspouts, or completed work. Their primary purpose is to document the job for your invoice and for Bayline Eaves' own records. Photos are never shared with marketing partners. If photos are used in any "before / after" or community marketing material, no identifying information about the property (such as house numbers or recognisable surroundings) is included unless you have given specific written consent.
11. Privacy
Personal information you provide is handled in accordance with the Bayline Eaves Privacy notice, which follows Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Your details are used only to schedule, perform, and invoice the service and are never sold or shared with marketing partners.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. Any disputes that cannot be resolved by friendly email will be heard in the Small Claims Court of Grey County, Ontario.
13. Changes to these terms
If these terms are updated, the new version will replace this page and the "Last updated" date at the top will be changed. The terms in force at the time you accepted a particular quote are the terms that apply to that job, even if the public terms page is later updated.
14. Contact
Any question about a quote, an invoice, an appointment, or these terms can be sent to [email protected]. Replies are usually sent within one to two business days.
