What is seamless eavestrough?

Custom-rolled aluminum, no field-joined seams to leak.

Seamless eavestrough is custom-rolled aluminum that is cut to the exact length of each roof run, on-site, on the day of the install. There are no field-joined seams to leak, no factory-cut sections that need silicone every five years, and no patchwork ends to peel apart in the freeze-thaw. Bayline Eaves rolls the trough on a truck-mounted machine, hangs it on hidden hangers screwed into the fascia (not nailed into the soffit), runs the matching downspouts to ground level, and removes the old eavestrough at no extra charge. The result is a continuous run of factory-baked aluminum that lasts 25–30 years on a Grey County home.

How it works

The seamless eavestrough installation process

  1. 1
    On-site quote and measure

Bayline Eaves measures every accessible run, counts the corners, and locates downspouts where the grade is right for run-off. The quote is written, includes HST, and is sent by email — no on-the-ladder verbal price.

  2. 2
    Profile + colour confirmation

You confirm 5" K-style (most homes) or 6" K-style (steep roofs, big roof areas, heavy snow load), then pick a factory-baked colour to match fascia, soffit, or roof.

  3. 3
    Old trough removed

On install day, the old eavestrough and downspouts are taken down, the fascia is checked for soft spots, and any loose fascia board is screwed back tight before the new trough goes up.

  4. 4
    Seamless run rolled on-site

The truck-mounted roller forms each run in a single seamless length of aluminum. Each piece is custom to the millimetre — no off-the-shelf 10-foot sections joined together.

  5. 5
    Hidden hangers + downspouts

Trough is hung on hidden hangers screwed directly into the fascia at 24-inch spacing (16-inch in the snow-load corners). Downspouts are run to grade in 2"x3" or oversized 3"x4" depending on roof area.

  6. 6
    Site cleaned, written warranty

Old eavestrough is hauled away. The site is magnet-swept for screws and brackets. A written workmanship warranty is emailed with the invoice.

Profile, sizing, and colour options

Choose the right seamless eavestrough for your home

5" K-style — the standard

Suitable for most single- and 1.5-storey homes with moderate roof area. Holds the volume of a Grey County downpour without overflowing if the downspouts are sized properly.

6" K-style — heavy roofs

Recommended for 2-storey homes, steep roofs, big roof areas (modern country homes), or any property with a long uninterrupted run. The extra capacity prevents back-up at the corners during peak storms.

Oversized 3"x4" downspouts

Standard 2"x3" downspouts work for most homes; 3"x4" oversized downspouts are used on properties with heavy leaf-load (Collingwood, Thornbury, Sydenham) so the spout doesn't choke even if a few leaves get past.

Colour-matched aluminum

Aluminum stock comes pre-painted in 20+ factory-baked colours — white, brown, black, charcoal, almond, evergreen, and the heritage colours that match older Grey County homes.

Leaf-protection add-on

Mesh and foam leaf-protection inserts can be added on the day of install at a per-foot upcharge. Most useful on properties with overhead maple, ash, or white pine.

Fascia repair (when needed)

If the fascia behind the old trough is rotted or soft, it is replaced before the new trough goes up — quoted as a separate line item so you see exactly what the repair costs.

Common questions

Seamless eavestrough — frequently asked

How long does seamless eavestrough last?

A properly hung seamless aluminum trough lasts 25–30 years on a Grey County or Southern Georgian Bay home. The factory-baked finish does not flake, and there are no seams to leak.

What's the difference between 5-inch and 6-inch eavestrough?

5-inch K-style is the standard for most single- and 1.5-storey homes. 6-inch is recommended for 2-storey homes, big roof areas, or properties with long uninterrupted runs — the extra capacity stops corner back-ups during heavy storms.

Do you install half-round eavestrough?

Bayline Eaves installs K-style seamless aluminum, which is the standard across Grey County. Half-round is a heritage-look option that's quoted separately on request, but the K-style profile holds more water and costs less per foot.

Do you take down the old eavestrough?

Yes — old eavestrough and downspouts are taken down and hauled away at no extra charge. The fascia line is also checked for soft spots and screwed back tight before the new trough goes up.

How long does an install take?

A typical single-storey home is installed in one day. Larger 2-storey homes or homes with extensive fascia repair are usually finished in a day and a half.

What colours are available?

20+ factory-baked colours including white, brown, black, charcoal, almond, evergreen, and heritage tones. The colour is baked onto the aluminum coil, not painted on after, so it does not peel or flake.

Do you offer leaf protection?

Yes. Mesh and foam leaf-protection inserts can be added on install day at a per-foot upcharge — most useful for properties with mature maple, ash, or pine overhead.

Is the install warrantied?

Yes. Bayline Eaves provides a written workmanship warranty on every install, emailed with the invoice. The aluminum stock itself carries the manufacturer's finish warranty.
